And as for me? I’m Shannon Jenkins. I’ve helped executives at Fortune 500 companies like Google, Nespresso, Nestlé, and KPMG—plus some of the biggest online creators— create presentations that get people to sit up, lean in, and take action. But what really lights me up? Helping entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants find stories that feel real—the ones that connect on a human level and inspire lasting change. (And we’ll have fun along the way, because let’s face it — JOY is the secret to real success).

Ep.24 My starting over story - winning a high conflict legal case & finding freedom and love
Four years ago, I ended an abusive relationship with the person I share a child with. But that did not signal the ‘end’ of the separation: in ways, it was only the beginning. There were two years of difficult legal proceedings, full of pure lies, manipulation, false allegations & frivolous additional legal suits on the part of my ex. But after some time, justice was served. I slam dunk won the legal case and was given permission to relocate to Switzerland from Australia and have sole parental responsibility (custody) of our son.
Sadly this isn’t the most common outcome in cases in which one parent has a ‘high conflict’ personality disorder (e.g. narcissism, sociopathy), so on this episode I share some of the strategies that contributed to my success - both in the legal procedure itself and also in managing my emotions and finding the inner resources to fight a fight I often very much wished wasn’t happening
This episode was originally featured on “It’s All Your Fault!”, the podcast from the “High Conflict Institute” hosted by Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq. and Megan Hunter MBA, which explores the “five types of people who can ruin your life” (the name of one of their books) and how to spot and deal with these characters - whether in romantic relationships, at work or beyond.
